Analysts were expecting, when the GDP was announced for quarter four, a drop of something like 5.5 percent. Well, huzzah! It only dropped 3.8%. Turns out, that’s the biggest decline in 26 years. Which is kind of a bad thing. But not as bad as anyone was really expecting. What does this tell you? Well, the first thing is that no one really know much about why the economy does the things it does.
The second thing it should tell you is that you should be out there looking for a job–because it’s not as bad as they’re all saying (or as they all think it is)–they being commentators on the news, Wall Street, wherever. Control what you can, don’t worry about what you can’t and try to find yourself a job.
