McDonald’s reported a sales rise of 7.6%. Meanwhile, GM just cut a further 10,000 workers, and Whirlpool reported a 76% decline in profit. McDonald’s and Wal*Mart are, unsurprisingly, weathering the economic recession quite well. And they are both nationwide, and offering jobs. And it might not be such a bad idea to check out McDonald’s employment website, or Wal*Mart’s employment website. There’s little room in a recession for pride.
In other not grim economic news (it’s not good news, just not dreadful), Hasbro posted a smaller than expected profit (only roughly 95 million dollars). Still, they’ve got two big summer movies coming out: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra–in addition, Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV show has been ordered for another season. All three of these brands are tent poles for Hasbro, and they look poised to have a good summer. Might want to check out their hiring site as well.
