For the rest of the year, Walgreens’ Take Care health centers will be offering free services to those that have lost their jobs (on or after March 31) and who have no health insurance. Spouses and children who do not have insurance also qualify.
I wouldn’t be horribly surprised if CVS’ Minute Clinic and various other small, one-stop clinics follow suit (much like Ford followed Hyundai). Either way, this is a great resource for the unemployed uninsured since many lab tests and prescriptions are incredibly expensive. And, to be sure, this discount does not apply to everything you might need done at a clinic. It’s best to check Walgreens’ website for the details.
