One company to watch is chipmaker Atheros. Think Intel, only small and not, you know, a monopoly. Atheros was number 19 on Fortune’s fastest growing companies list, from the years of 2005-2008. Of course, the current Recession will stop anyone’s growth, but the computer industry has been hit fairly hard, and Atheros is no exception. The company is known for making the chips that make Wi-Fi and other wireless components work.
With the advent of Blutooth 3.0, Atheros looks like it’s going to be making a lunge into the wireless phone industry–an industry, which, despite the economy, is actually doing fairly well. Watch this company in the near future, because it may not be a bad place to go in search of a job. Here’s their hiring page, and here’s the CNN article that highlights Atheros.
