CNNMoney is running a story about a woman named Renee Libby who successfully used Twitter to find a new job. A public relations professional who was laid off last May, Libby used Twitter to build her networking opportunities. It’s a good strategy. Use Facebook or Twitter (MySpace is an option…but a significantly less used one) or even more professional sites like LinkedIn, to build yourself a following. You can use this following (assuming you don’t do anything unbecoming a professional with your account, like post drunken pictures of yourself or send drunken messages) to build even more extensive networking connection–and then put those connections to work for you (assuming they like you; note: Make yourself likable).
